Fire Prevention

The New Hartford Fire Department's Fire Prevention Committee is dedicated to being tasked with providing continuous education in fire safety and prevention to the schools and members of our community. With the help of uniquely and individually created programs, the committee has successfully targeted children and teenagers, as well as adults in effective fire safety education.

Fire Safety Tips:

•Have 2 ways out!

•Change batteries in smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors when you change the time on your clock.

•Observe all safety precautions for outdoor burning as wildfire season begins in the spring. DO NOT burn anything outside until you check with your local Codes Inspector, Fire Chief or Forest Ranger.
